How can I find a supervisor for my HDR program?
Updated

The ability to offer a place in a Higher Degree by Research program in your chosen field will depend largely on whether we have supervisors able to mentor you through the HDR process. You can search for supervisors using keywords via our Expert Finder. Further information is also available on the  Find Your Research Topic page.

UniSQ also has an  interactive database promoting areas of expertise which advertises research topics that have been pre-approved for candidates.

If you cannot locate a suitable supervisor, you may wish to contact the Graduate Research School  and they can try and identify a suitable staff member on your behalf.  Applications received without a potential supervisor will still be considered however it can create admission processing delays so it is in your best interest to try and find a supervisor before applying.

After identifying a potential supervisor, email them to introduce yourself and include a short outline (approximately 500 words) of your intended research project. After consultation with your proposed supervisor, students are required to fill out the Preliminary Research Thesis Topic Proposal. It is recommended that you work on the draft with your potential supervisor before submitting the final version with your admission application.
