What is an exemption?

An exemption is waiving the requirement to complete one or more courses in an award program based on credit granted for any of the following:

  1. another course
  2. work experience
  3. recognised prior learning

If you receive an exemption for one or more courses in your program you will not need to study that course.

Information on how to apply for an exemption / credit is available.

After applying for an exemption you can check if you have been granted an exemption for a course via:

  1. log onto UConnect 
  2. Student Centre
  3. Program tile
  4. Credit Transfer History menu item

Please note the "EX" grade you receive does not contribute to your GPA.
