How do I connect to the UniSQ Wi-Fi (eduroam) on my MacOS Laptop?
Updated
The Wi-Fi connection used at UniSQ is called eduroam. Once set up, your MacOS device will automatically connect to it whenever you come onto any UniSQ Campus.

UniSQ has partnered with eduroam to provide UniSQ students with access to a free wireless network, depending on where you are located.  eduroam is available on most Australian University campuses, as well as some Government facilities.  Once setup, whenever you are in the area covered by eduroam, you will be automatically connected.

Note: This process MUST be performed while on campus
  1. Click on the Wi-Fi icon at the top right of your screen, and then on Network Preferences...
  2. Click on UniSQ-Visitor from the Network Name drop down list
  3. Open any internet browser which will open a page titled Attention UniSQ Staff and Students

Note: If your internet browser does not automatically open on the Attention UniSQ Staff and Students page, you can manually do this by going to http://wireless.usq.edu.au/

  1. Click on the Follow this link to connect to 'eduroam' link
  2. If prompted to allow downloads on "cloud.securew2.com" choose Allow
  3. Read the Warning Message and continue the below steps if you agree
  4. Select Configure via dissolvable Agent (configure and connect)
  5. Click JoinNow
  6. The file WiFi_JoinNow_Wrapper.dmg will download
  7. Find this file in your Downloads folder and open it
  8. A new window will open, double click on the Secure W2 icon
  9. A security message may appear, click Open
  10. Enter your UniSQ Username followed by @usq.edu.au (eg. u1234567@usq.edu.au)
  11. Enter your UniSQ Password
  12. Click Next
  13. Your Mac may prompt you about making changes to your device, enter your Mac password and click OK
  14. You will be prompted with a message regarding system prompts, then click Next
  15. You will now be prompted to install a Profile, click Install...
  16. Then in the new window that opens, click Install
  17. Your Mac may prompt you about making changes to your device, enter your Mac password and click OK
  18. You may now close the Profiles window, and go back to the SecureW2 JoinNow window
  19. Once you see Joined...  appear, click Done

Note: If you are off campus when doing the above steps you may receive an error at step 21 that says Configuration succeeded. Network may not be in range... simply click Continue then Done. When you are next on-campus you will automatically connect to eduroam. Please note that doing the above steps off campus may disconnect you from your home Wi-Fi, so please reconnect to it.

Click on the Wi-Fi icon at the top right of your screen, and you should now see that you are connected to eduroam.
