If you have experienced adverse, unexpected circumstances which occurred after the census date, and these circumstances have prevented you from undertaking the necessary study to successfully complete the requirements of the course, you may apply to have the course fees refunded or HELP debt remitted and the academic penalty waived.
The circumstances must be significant and beyond your control (i.e., not due to your own action or inaction), and must have occurred during the relevant study period.
Applications should be submitted through the online requests section of your Student Centre:

- Student Centre
- Online requests tile
- Add a New Request
- Withdraw without Penalty menu item
Waive Academic Penalty and Fee Reversal requests must be submitted within 12 months of the relevant study period. Please note that only eligible courses and study periods will be displayed in the online request form. Applications cannot be submitted for courses you are currently enrolled in, courses with an incomplete or passing grade and courses which are outside the 12 month application period.
All applications must include independent supporting documentation verifying the circumstances outlined in your Statement of Special Circumstances.
